Marcus was a star for Squalicum High School in his career, excelling on both sides of the ball. Marcus earned All-Northwest Conference first team honors at running back for the 2024 season, adding a second team All-Northwest conference honor at linebacker. This past season, Squalicum went 4-4 in the 2A Northwest District, placing fifth and was 5-4 overall. In the 2023 season, Nixon lined up at quarterback, along with cornerback, recording 1761 yards from scrimmage and 22 total touchdowns. He had 34.4 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. Marcus was a three-star prospect according to 247Sports.com
