2025: Appeared in eight games as a punt returner, making his Utah debut at West Virginia. All-Big 12 Honorable Mention as a returner. Leads the Big 12 and ranks 18th nationally with 211 punt return yards. One of three Big 12 returners with a touchdown this season. Returned three punts for 94 yards against No. 17 Cincinnati, including a 75-yard touchdown. Became the first Ute since the 2021 season to return a punt for a touchdown and the first freshman to do so since 2015. Logged five returns for 60 yards, including a 19-yarder, against Colorado. Returned two punts for six yards against the Mountaineers. Returned one punt for a career-high 24 yards against No. 21 Arizona State. High School: Three-star recruit played on both sides at Kahuku HS, rated the No. 10 prospect in Hawaii. Named a 2025 Polynesian Bowl All-Star. Made 48 receptions as a senior for 365 yards (3 TD), averaging 7.6 yards per catch. Received the 2024 Cover 2 Chad Owens Award as the Hawaii High School Football Special Teams Player of the Year in 2024. Selected as 2023 All-Hawaii Defensive Player of the Year, Manti Te'o Award winner and All-OIA Open Division First Team. Part of a 12-2 Kahuku team as a junior that won its third straight Open state title. Has managed to score touchdowns in his career via rushing, receiving, kick return, punt return and interception returns. Made five interceptions and had a receiving touchdown, all during a win over Saint Louis as a junior. Led the Red Raiders as a sophomore with 61 receptions for 766 yards. Rated as the No. 8 player in Hawaii entering the 2024 season. Also lettered in basketball, track and volleyball. Honor Roll student was active in Student Body Government. Personal: Son of Yuri and Stewart Carvalho. Has two siblings, Leina and Kainoa. Kainoa signed with Hawai'i as a wide receiver. Father, Stewart, lettered with the Utes as a running back in 1998 and ‘99. Several other family members are also Utah alumni. Full name is Kaimana Carvalho; goes by Mana.
