Malik Gucake

Malik Gucake Apolosa Jr. is a senior defensive lineman from Sacramento, CA, majoring in Sociology at Prairie View A&M University. He graduated from Sheldon High School. Malik’s most memorable moment in sports was letting his parents know they didn’t have to pay for college. On game days, he listens to his favorite songs to get motivated. His favorite entertainers are Joe Rogan and Aaron Donald, and his all-time favorite movie is Shanghai Noon. He loves Fijian food called lovo, which is cooked underground. Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday because it brings family together and lets him eat all he wants. In his free time, Malik enjoys trying new things and playing touch rugby with friends. He believes one of the greatest challenges athletes face today is breaking old habits and creating better ones through hard work. Five years from now, Malik hopes to have helped someone on their journey. His dream job is to become an FBI agent. He chose Prairie View A&M for the chance to represent a prestigious HBCU and to bring positive light to the campus.
