Ja'koby Banks

Ja’koby is a junior wide receiver from Missouri City, Texas, currently majoring in Criminal Justice at Prairie View A&M University. A graduate of Thurgood Marshall High School, Ja’koby stands 5’10½” and weighs 188 pounds. He is known for his speed, agility, and ability to make big plays on the field. One of Ja’koby’s most memorable moments came during the first game of his senior year in high school when he scored his first ever catch on a 92-yard slant—a play that helped cement his confidence and set the tone for his football career. Before games, he calms his nerves by listening to slow music and talking to his mom, keeping a strong mental focus. He believes mental health is one of the greatest challenges athletes face today and strives to maintain a balanced mindset. Off the field, Ja’koby enjoys playing video games, running or walking, and building things in his free time. His favorite foods are wings and oxtails, and he loves Christmas because of the joy it brings through giving gifts and making his family happy. His favorite entertainer is Loe Shimmy, and his all-time favorite movie is The Wood. Looking ahead, Ja’koby dreams of playing in the NFL, working for the FBI, or becoming a head coach at his old high school. In five years, he hopes to have won the SWAC and Celebration Bowl twice and be proving himself at the professional level while starting a family. He chose Prairie View A&M because of Coach Jack’s leadership and the chance to play for a program that shares his dreams and aspirations—one that aims to redefine what the university’s football program can be
