2025 Season (Freshman) - Byrd appeared in five games for ETSU during his freshman campaign in 2025...He saw spot duty late in games against Murray State, Tennessee, VMI, and Chattanooga...Ran for a 20-yard touchdown to cap off the victory over VMI in mid-October...The highlight of Byrd's season came in the road win over Western Carolina on November 15...Coming off the bench, Byrd completed 7-of-10 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns to go with 20 yards on the ground...Those three touchdowns thrown by Byrd along with the three tossed by fellow Buc Jacolby Criswell earlier in the game matched the most touchdown passes ever thrown by ETSU QBs in a single season in program history. Prior to ETSU - Compiled a record of 50-3 as the starting quarterback at Cleveland High School in Clayton, N.C., and helped lead his team to four conference championships and the school's first 13-win season...Threw for over 10,000 yards and 114 touchdowns in high school...Completed 63 percent of his passes, ran for 1,800 yards and added 39 rushing touchdowns...A three-time all-conference selection. Also, a three-time academic all-conference pick with a 4.0 GPA...Two-time Conference Player of the Year and an honorable mention all-state selection.
