Zach Atkins

AT COLORADO 2025 (Jr.) Played in all 12 games, starting in seven including the final five of the season. Finished the season fourth on the team with 20 receptions for 149 receiving yards. Against Houston he registered his first carry and touchdown after recovering a fumble by Ryan Staub and fell in the endzone. Finished the regular season ranked 16th in receptions and 17th in receiving yards for tight ends in the Big 12. TRANSFER RANKINGS Atkins had a .8500 transfer rating from 247 Sports and was ranked as the No. 294 overall player in the transfer portal and the No. 12 tight end. (As of Dec. 18, 2024) He joins Colorado with two years to play two. AT NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE Played three seasons at Northwest Missouri State for head coach Rich Wright. In three seasons Atkins caught 30 passes for 360 yards and four touchdowns. In 2024 he hauled in 18 receptions for 179 yards and three touchdowns. During his first season playing he caught 12 passes for 181 yards and one touchdown in 2023. Atkins redshirted in 2022. Two-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll AT BLUE VALLEY SOUTHWEST Played high school football for head coach Anthony Orrick at Blue Valley Southwest. He finished high school with 133 receptions for 1,961 yards and 16 touchdowns. As a senior, he was named a First-Team All-State wide receiver and a finalist for the Otis Taylor Award given to the top wide receiver in the Kansas City Metro Area. In his final season, he caught 79 passes for 1,055 yards and nine touchdowns. Atkins was selected to play in the Kansas City Shrine Bowl. He was also named First-Team All-Conference and a First-Team All-Blue Valley wide receiver. Atkins jumped onto the scene as a junior with 42 receptions for 802 yards and seven touchdowns.
