Honors & Awards » Two-Time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll » Academic All-Big Ten (2025) 2025 (Redshirt) Willis McGahee IV redshirted in 2025 while playing in five games, including the bowl game. He recorded four tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss. McGahee had a one-yard tackle for loss against Akron. McGahee posted two tackles against Houston Christian, including a two-yard tackle for loss. He had one tackle against Michigan State. 2024 (Freshman) McGahee played in 12 games as a true freshman and posted 13 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and one pass breakup. He also tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles. McGahee recorded two solo tackles in his Husker debut against UTEP. He had an eight-yard strip sack against Colorado that resulted in a Husker takeaway. McGahee had one quarterback hurry against Northern Iowa. McGahee totaled two tackles at Purdue. McGahee nearly had a strip sack at Ohio State, finishing with one tackle. He hit OSU quarterback Will Howard in the backfield and forced a fumble, but the ball rolled forward to the line of scrimmage, negating the sack. McGahee had one solo tackle against UCLA. He had a half tackle for loss against Wisconsin. McGahee recorded a career-high four tackles in the Pinstripe Bowl against Boston College with his first career pass breakup. Before Nebraska (Christopher Columbus HS) Willis McGahee IV was one of the top recruits in Florida as a standout linebacker in the Miami area. He was a two-time first-team all-state selection who was also a two-time first-team all-county pick. As a senior for Christopher Columbus High School, McGahee recorded 57 tackles with 16 sacks and nine tackles for loss. He had a nose for the ball with seven forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three pass breakups and three defensive touchdowns. McGahee also added 19 quarterback hurries. Previously, McGahee played for Palmetto High School in Miami, where he was an all-state and all-county performer. McGahee was regarded as a three-star prospect, and he was ranked among the nation’s top 35 outside linebackers by ESPN. Personal Willis is the son of Nikki Perez and his stepfather is Louis Perez. Willis is a business administration major.
