Tyson Terry

Honors & Awards » Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (Fall 2025) 2025 (Redshirt) Tyson Terry had knee surgery prior to arriving at Nebraska and missed the entire 2025 season, utilizing his redshirt season. Before Nebraska (Omaha North HS) A dominant two-sport star at Omaha North High School, Terry was a standout defender who amassed more than 300 career tackles. Terry also won four straight state championships on the wrestling mat. Terry finished his career with 315 tackles, including 48 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, five pass breakups, a pair of blocked field goals and a touchdown. He missed the majority of his senior year with an injury but managed to make 46 tackles, including nine tackles for loss and two sacks. His play helped the Vikings to a 9-3 record and a trip to the state semifinals. Terry had a breakout freshman season when he had 85 tackles and 12 tackles for loss. Terry helped North to the state playoffs each season, including the semifinals as a freshman and senior and the quarterfinals as a junior. Terry was a three-time first-team Super-State pick by the Lincoln Journal Star and a two-time Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska selection. Terry was also one of the nation’s top prep wrestlers, capturing four consecutive Class A state heavyweight championships without losing a match. He finished his high school career with a 169-0 record, setting a Nebraska Class A record for consecutive victories. Terry was also the first wrestler in state history to be a four-time state champion at heavyweight, and he won his final title as a senior despite wrestling with a torn ACL. Terry was regarded as one of the top three players in Nebraska and was ranked among the top 25 defensive linemen in the country by Rivals. Personal Terry is the son of Ryan and Kelly Terry. Tyson is a nutrition and health sciences major.
