Roman Marchetti

2025: Marchetti will compete at linebacker as a redshirt junior in 2025. 2024: Marchetti saw action in all 13 games at linebacker as a redshirt sophomore in 2024. He recorded 1 tackle against Penn State. 2023: Marchetti saw action in 4 games (San Jose State, Nevada, Stanford and the Holiday Bowl against Louisville) as a redshirt freshman in 2023. He recorded 1 kick return for 10 yards on special teams in the Holiday Bowl versus Louisville. 2022: Marchetti saw action in 1 game (Stanford) as a true freshman. He did not record any statistics. HIGH SCHOOL: He made 2021 Cal-Hi Sports All-State Medium Schools third team, All-CIF Division 3, Orange County Register All-Orange County first team and All-Crestview League Defensive Player of the Year as a senior linebacker and running back at Foothill High in Santa Ana (Calif.) as he made 150 tackles, including 5 for losses (with 15 sacks), 2 forced fumbles, an interception, a fumble recovery and a pass deflection. As a 2020 junior, he made All-Crestview League first team as he had 49 tackles, including 4 for losses (with a sack), 3 fumble recoveries (1 for a TD) and 2 forced fumbles, along with 67 yards on 6 carries (11.2 avg). As a sophomore in 2019, he made 11 tackles (1 for a loss) and a fumble recovery, plus had 40 yards on 10 carries (4.0 avg). He also played lacrosse at Foothill, earning 2022 First Team All-Crestview League honors as his team was the CIF Division 1 runner-up as a senior and 2021 Third Team All-CIF Division 1 as a junior. PERSONAL: He is majoring in Journalism at USC. He earned placement on the 2023 Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll and the 2024 Big Ten Fall All-Academic Team.
