Preston Taumua

Honors & Awards » Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (Fall 2024) » Academic All-Big Ten (2025) » Brook Berringer Citizenship Team (2025) » Tom Osborne Citizenship Team (2025) 2025 (Redshirt Freshman) Preston Taumua played in two games in 2025, appearing against Akron and Houston Christian. 2024 (Redshirt) Taumua did not play in a game and used his redshirt season in 2024. Before Nebraska (Waipahu HS) Taumua was regarded as the top player in Hawaii and one of the top offensive line prospects in the country. Taumua joined the Huskers from Waipahu High School. Taumua’s dominant play on the offensive line as a junior and senior helped Waipahu to a pair of state championship game appearances. As a senior, Coach Bryson Carvalho’s team finished with an 8-4 record and captured the Division I state championship, capped by a 53-28 victory over Konawaena in the finals. Taumua’s blocking led an explosive offense that scored more than 40 points six times during the season. As a junior, the Marauders posted an 11-2 record and reached the Division I state finals. Taumua was the consensus choice as the top player in the state of Hawaii and was ranked among the nation’s top 15 interior offensive linemen by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals.com. He was also ranked among the nation’s top 200 players by ESPN. Personal Preston is the son of Fa'a Fouina and Lillian Taumua. Preston is a criminology and criminal justice major.
