Preston Okafor

Honors & Awards » Three-Time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll » Academic All-Big Ten (2025) » Brook Berringer Citizenship Team (2025) » Tom Osborne Citizenship Team (2025) 2025 (Redshirt Freshman) Preson Okafor has played in two games in 2025, seeing action against Akron and Houston Christian. 2024 (Redshirt) Okafor did not play in a game while taking his redshirt season in 2024. Before Nebraska (Omaha Westside HS) Okafor joined the Nebraska program from Omaha Westside High School, where he played for Coach Paul Limongi. Okafor helped Westside to back-to-back state championships in his final two seasons. As a senior, Okafor helped the Warriors to a perfect 13-0 record by making 18 tackles while recovering four fumbles and breaking up three passes. Okafor was an honorable-mention all-state selection by both the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star, and he earned honorable-mention All-Metro recognition. As a junior, Okafor contributed on a defense that helped the Warriors to a 12-1 record and the Class A state title. In track, Okafor finished second in the Class A 100-meter dash as a senior and competed for Westside’s 4x100 team. He was also a state qualifier in the 100 meters as a junior. Personal Preston is the son of Napoleon and Angela Okafor. Preston is a mass communications major. Preston's older brother, Collins, was a Husker running back from 2008 to 2011.
