Kicking specialist who begins his second year in the program… has worked at both disciplines but expected to focus on placekicking in 2026… will compete for the wide-open position following the graduation of William Joyce… handled kickoffs as a true freshman and earned a spot on the Coaches All-SEC Freshman team. 2025 (Freshman) True freshman who joined the squad in the summer… earned his way into a role as the team’s top kickoff specialist, handling 47 of the 58 opportunities… averaged 61.6-yards per kick with 17 touchbacks… opponents averaged just 17.5-yards per kick return against the Gamecocks… named to the Coaches’ All-SEC Freshman team as a kickoff specialist. HIGH SCHOOL Graduated from Gallatin (Tenn.) High School in 2025… coached by Michael Stroup… connected on 57-of-65 career PATs and 16-of-23 field goals during his high school career… was 24-of-27 on PATs and finished 7-of-11 in field goals with a career long of 51 yards in 2024… averaged 38.1 yard per punt for the Green Wave in 2023… also connected on 9-of-12 field goals with a long of 45 yards and went 33-of-38 on PATs as a junior.. also played baseball. PERSONAL Max Kelley was born June 25, 2006… is a biological sciences major… father, Jay Kelley, is a former placekicker at Liberty where he earned All-American honorable mention honors by the Football Gazette in 2001.
