That mark also ranks sixth in a single-season overall at Maryland. Washington finished eighth in single-season rushing yards by a quarterback with 302. Threw for 200+ yards in 11 of 12 games making him one of just four FBS true freshmen to accomplish the feat. Threw for 459 yards in season finale at Michigan State, marking the second most passing yards in a single game in school history. One of only two Big Ten true freshmen since 1996 to end the year with over 2,500 passing yards and 300 rushing yards. 164 rush yds at Rutgers, 2nd most by a MD QB in a game and set school a freshman record. His 27 completions were the most by a Maryland true freshman quarterback in a game in school history and it was the most completions by a true freshman in a Power Conference debut since Jaxson Dart (USC) had 30 against Washington State in 2021.
