2024 (Sophomore): Saw action in 10 games with one start ... caught one pass for 12 yards vs. South Carolina State (10/5/24). 2022-23 (Freshman, Virginia Tech): Luke Shields was a wide receiver at Virginia Tech the last two seasons, redshirting in the 2022 campaign and seeing action in one game in 2023. HIGH SCHOOL: A 6-0, 168-pound product of Centreville, Va., Shields was a first-team all-state selection at Centreville High School as he played receiver, safety and punt returner. Also earning first-team all-district and all-region honors, Shields was also named the 2021 NOVA Hall of Fame Player of the Year. In his senior campaign, Shields caught 27 passes for 365 yards with seven touchdowns, averaging 13.5 yards per catch. In addition to his rushing and returns, he finished the season with 514 all-purpose yards. PERSONAL: His father, Jon, played football at Virginia Tech, earning letters in 1993 and 1994.
