Before Nebraska (Winters Mill HS) Koch was one of the top punting prospects in the country for Winters Mill High School and Coach Brad Dugan. Koch was named one of the top players in the Baltimore area with a selection to the Baltimore Touchdown Club's Super 22 team. Koch was a versatile player for the Falcons, as he was the team's punter, place-kicker and kickoff specialist in addition to playing on offense and defense. As a senior, Koch helped Winters Mill to a 9-2 record and a trip to the state quarterfinals. He averaged 38.5 yards per punt and had 23 touchbacks. Koch was an all-league selection and had 12 tackles and one interception return for a touchdown on defense with 10 catches for 177 yards on offense. Koch was regarded as one of the top five punters in the country. He was ranked as the No. 3 punter on the On3 Industry Ranking, No. 4 in the On3 rankings and No. 5 in the 247Sports rankings. Personal Kamdyn is the son of Nicole and Sam Koch. Kamdyn is a business administration major. Kamdyn's father, Sam, was a Husker punter from 2001 to 2005. Sam set a school record with a 46.5-yard punting average as a senior in 2005 and ranks second all-time with a career average of 44.0 yards per punt. He went on to punt for 16 seasons in the NFL, where he set a Baltimore Ravens franchise record with 256 career games played.
