2025: Started the first 11 games at defensive end, before sustaining an injury against Kansas State. All-America (Walter Camp First Team, AFCA Second Team, AP Second Team) Voted All-Big 12 First Team by the league’s coaches. Named a Chuck Bednarik Award semifinalist and a quarterfinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy. Season totals included 48 tackles (17.5 TFL, 11.5 sacks) in addition to one PBU and two forced fumbles. At the time of his injury, was tied for the FBS lead with 17.5 TFL and ranked second in the country with 11.5 sacks. Totaled 91 sack yards, tying for fifth on the Utah single-season leaderboard. Contributed a career-best 3.5 TFL and tied a personal-best with 2.0 sacks vs. Kansas State, before exiting in the first quarter due to injury. Made strip-sacks in back-to-back games (at Wyoming, vs. Texas Tech), becoming the first Utah player since 2017 to accomplish that feat. Set a career-best with seven tackles during the win over West Virginia. Turned in a five-tackle night against Arizona State with 2.5 TFL and 1.5 sacks. 2024: Played in seven games. Four tackles (1.0 TFL, 1.0 sack). Career-high tree stops came in the regular season finale at UCF. Made his first collegiate sack in the win over Southern Utah. Prior to Utah: Played in three games for BYU in 2023, recording three total tackles. High School: Three-star recruit out of Lone Peak HS, rated the No. 9 recruit in the state of Utah on 247Sports. Earned All-State first-team as a senior. Had 82 tackles with 22.0 sacks in 14 games his senior season. Blocked two punts his senior year, including one in the state semifinals. Brother, Michael, is a defensive end at Rice. Father, Neal, played linebacker at BYU. Uncles are former BYU football players, David Nixon, Craig Bills and Taysom Hill.
