2024 • Played in eight games and started six at tight end in first season with the Huskies. • Finished the season with four catches for 45 yards to average 11.3 yards per catch. • Often used in two tight end and run blocking situations. • Made two catches for 29 yards in the bowl win over Fresno State, including a season-long 20-yard grab. • Also recorded receptions at NC State (5 yards) and Toledo (11 yards). • Started four of the first five games of the year. • Did not play in the Bowling Green game (10-12), came back to play the next week versus Toledo (10-19), then was out for the next four games. • Returned to action for the regular season finale versus Central Michigan (11-30). PRIOR TO NIU (2022, 2023 at Nebraska) • Played in six games as a redshirt freshman in 2023, including versus the Huskies. • Saw action in four of the Huskers' last five games (Purdue, Maryland, Wisconsin, Iowa). • Earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition. • Named to the Brook Berringer and Tom Osborne Citizenship Teams. • Redshirted the 2022 season and did not see any game action. HIGH SCHOOL • Two-way starter for Lincoln Southeast High School. • Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska second-team selection as a defensive back and a Lincoln Journal Star second-team Super-State pick as a linebacker. • Named first team Class A All-State as a senior. • Totaled more than 70 tackles with one interception and two pass breakups on defense while helping the Knights to the state playoffs. • Offensively, made 30 catches for 427 yards and eight touchdowns with 19 carries for 109 yards and one score. • As a junior, a first-team Super-State selection by the Journal Star and was a second-team All-Nebraska honoree. • Ranked as the No. 6 player in the state in the 247Sports Composite rankings. PERSONAL • Birthday is May 13 • Son of Andrew and Carin Appleget. • Volunteered with Nebraska’s Day of Service, local Thanksgiving hospital visits and the Nebraska Football Road Race. • Major is leadership and management in the College of Business.
