2024 – Freshman • Redshirt season • Saw his first collegiate action vs. Murray State, kicking off seven times for 443 yards with four touchbacks High School • A three-star prospect by all On3.com, ESPN and 247Sports • Listed as one of the nation’s top 20 kickers by Kohl’s Professional Camps • Won the Kohl’s Kicking kick-off competition at the Texas Showcase in May of 2023 • Four-year letter winner and two-year starter for coach Rob Stanton at Billings West • Hit a career-long 49-yard field goal as a senior • Earned second-team Montana AA All-State and first-team Eastern AA Conference honors as a kicker in 2023 with 45 touchbacks, 26 PATs, five field goals • As a punter, named a second-team choice by the Eastern AA Conference and honorable mention by Montana AA with 839 yards, a 32.4 punt average and a career-long 51-yard punt • Named first-team All-State as a kicker and second-team all-state as a punter in 2022 • Hit 13 of 16 field goals, a West High single-season record, and 29 of 31 extra points • Hit a season-long 42-yard field goal and 37 of his 40 kickoffs were touchbacks • Also punted for the Golden Bears, who made the first round of the Montana’s Class 2A playoffs in 2022 • Played soccer during his freshman and sophomore seasons before concentrating solely on football • Excellent student with a weighted GPA of 4.5 and aspirations of studying medicine • Chose Kentucky over Montana State Community Cats • Volunteered for the My New Kentucky Home, community engagement event (2024) Personal • Last name is pronounced “COW-way” • Born in American Fork, Utah • Son of Merrell and Genevieve Kauwe • Siblings are David Kauwe and Kalei Kauwe • Major is biology Jacob Says • He chose Kentucky because it was the best place to come and develop • One thing most people don’t know about him is that he’s part Hawaiian • Three words to describe him are chill, consistent and reserved • Besides playing football, he’s also a really good at math • His sports hero is Cristiano Ronaldo
