Jacob Bower

Honors & Awards » Academic All-Big Ten (2024, 2025) » Four-Time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll » Tom Osborne Citizenship Team (2024, 2025) 2025 (Sophomore) Jacob Bower played in all 13 games in 2025, recording eight tackles. He recorded one tackle against Akron and also had one tackle against Houston Christian. Bower had his first career tackle in a Big Ten Conference game with a stop from his linebacker spot against No. 23 USC. Bower recorded two solo tackles at Penn State. He made one tackle against Iowa. Bower had two tackles from his linebacker spot against Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl. 2024 (Redshirt Freshman) Bower played in six games in 2024. He made his debut against UTEP. Bower recorded his first career tackle against Northern Iowa. 2023 (Redshirt) Bower redshirted in his first season at Nebraska. Before Nebraska (Santa Margarita Catholic HS) Bower was a standout football and rugby player in Southern California before coming to Nebraska. On the gridiron, Bower was a productive linebacker for Santa Margarita Catholic High School. In his final two seasons, Bower was credited with 174 tackles, 6.5 sacks and four interceptions. He recorded 116 tackles in his senior season with nine tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery. Following his senior season, Bower was selected to play in the Orange County All Star Game, where he was named a top defensive performer. As a rugby player, Bower helped his SOC Raptors team to a runner-up finish at 2023 Tier II National Championships. Bower was selected to participate in the 2022 USA Rugby Men's Pathways Winter Camp, and he was also one of 23 players chosen to compete for the Under-18 U.S. National Team in the summer before his senior season. Bower considered pursuing a rugby career before deciding to walk on at Nebraska. Personal Jacob is the son of Christopher and Rebecca Bower. Jacob is a mechanical engineering major.
