Cayden Echternach

Honors & Awards » Academic All-Big Ten (2024, 2025) » Two-Time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll » Tom Osborne Citizenship Team (2024, 2025) 2025 (Sophomore) Cayden Echternach played in 11 games in 2025. He has emerged as a key blocker during Nebraska's Big Ten schedule, helping Emmett Johnson be named the Big Ten Running Back of the Year. 2024 (Redshirt Freshman) Echternach played in two games in 2024. He made his Husker debut against UTEP and also saw action against Northern Iowa. 2023 (Redshirt) Echternach redshirted in his first season at Nebraska and did not play in a game. Before Nebraska (Bellevue West HS) Echternach joined the Huskers from the Omaha metro area. Echternach played his final season for Bellevue West High School in 2022 after playing for Omaha Burke High School in his first three seasons. In his high school career, Echternach had 27 catches and more than 420 receiving yards. As a senior for Bellevue West, Echternach caught 17 passes for more than 200 yards with two touchdowns. He earned honorable-mention All-Metro recognition from the Omaha World-Herald. Echternach caught 10 passes for 190 yards as a junior at Omaha Burke. He also played on the baseball team for two years at Burke. Personal Cayden is the son of Jaimy Echternach. Cayden is a nutrition and health sciences major.
