Bode Soukup

Before Nebraska (Blair HS) Soukup was one of the state’s most productive quarterbacks at Blair High School. He finished his career with 4,477 yards and 44 passing touchdowns. As a senior, Soukup guided the Bears to a 6-5 record and a state playoff trip by completing 64 percent of his passes for 1,501 yards and 17 touchdowns, while adding two rushing touchdowns. He was the first-team Class B all-state quarterback by the Lincoln Journal Star, an honorable-mention all-state pick by the Omaha World-Herald and earned a spot on the publication's all-area team as a punter. As a junior, Soukup passed for 1,615 yards and 16 touchdowns, helping Blair to the state playoffs. He earned honorable-mention all-state recognition for his play. Soukup threw for 1,290 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore. He also handled the Bears’ punting duties for four seasons. Off the football field, Soukup qualified for the Class B boys golf state tournament as a senior. Personal Bode is the son of Bryan and Angie Soukup, and he was coached by his father at Blair. Bode is a business administration major. Bode's older brother, Brady, is an offensive lineman at Concordia University in Seward.
